Week Five

March 3rd. This day was a very eventful one. I was able to sit in on a session, Sujata came to visit, and I learned about different energetic concepts from different countries. I also began to form ideas for what my project would be. I arrived on time, as usual, and was greeted by the sweet sent of a new book. Philmore gave me a copy of the book he had lent me, Gastalt and the Wisdom of the Kahunas! I find this book to be very interesting and the conversations I've had with Philmore sparked by it have been magnificent! I will definatly continue to read this book, but not just accept all of it as fact, while attempting to not throw out everything. As my father and Philmore have often said, don't throw the baby out with the bath water, which means- don't let the bad stuff get in the way of the good stuff. Kind of like in school. I'm going to try and make sure that the hours of sometimes repetitive work and or boring lectures do not get in the way of my education! I wont let school stop me from learning! Woah...got a little rebelious there for a second. Back on track.
After I got the new book Philmore let me sit in on one of his sessions. I wont go into detail as that would expose personal information which should not be exposed without the concent of the client, soooo......I got to witness first hand how Philmore consulted which was pretty cool. He let the client do a lot of talking and said only what would help the situation. The client was a little anxious so Philmore helped them by saying things like 'feelings and thoughts arise and fall away like the tides of the sea'. That isn't an exact quote, more like a paraphrase but you get what I'm saying. Anyways it was pretty cool and I got a better feel for what its like to be a psychological consultant.
After all of that Sujata came over and we pretty much continued what we'd been doing before. The crash course on western aswell as none western 'psychology' is very absorbing. Learning new things and discussing them is a great experience. We talked about different types of energy, chakra, mana, and others, and how there was no such word for them in western society. It was really interesting and I opening. Sujata also got to see the Gastalt book. After she left we continued with discussions. It was swell!
